A New Year’s Activities
As we return to work ‘properly’ and our activities restart in earnest after the festive break, Darrell and I would like to wish you all a very peaceful, happy and healthy New Year.
It’s great to be welcoming you into 2025, with so many activities in the calendar. There are too many to mention, but here’s my pick of the week:
Jarrow:
Positive Pens – Mondays 2.30-4.00pm, featuring special guest comedian John Scott on 13th, 20th and 27th January
Motivational Monday – Mondays 12-1pm. This regular group is a ‘pick n mix’, in that you don’t need to attend every week, just when you feel like it or when it’s convenient for you. Darrell and Catherine will offer good interactive content, hot drinks and warm smiles.
Creative Corner – every other Friday 10-11.30am. Next session is Friday 17th Jan and thereafter every 2 weeks.
Living Life to the Full – starting Friday 24th Jan from 12-1.30pm. If you’ve ever experienced depression or anxiety, this course could be for you. All are welcome (pre-booking needed), but we specifically encourage new students to attend too.
Anxiety Busters – starting Friday 10th Jan from 2.00-3.30pm. Peer Support Worker, Sandra and ‘our Darrell’ will lead this course where you’ll learn facts about anxiety and tips to combat it.
Action Station
Men’s Group – every other Tuesday. The alternate Tuesday, Darrell and volunteer Keith organise a trip out. Please contact us on 0191 217 2935 or email kindmindcommunity@everyturn.org for more details, and Darrell will contact you.
Fighting the Brain Fog – starting Thursday 9th Jan from 2-3.30pm. Darrell leads this course about dissociation and talks about ways to fight it. (3-week course).
